Nick Kierstead - Owner and Operator
Nick began working in the tree care industry in 2013 as a subcontracted groundsman for a power company in Colorado. With an affinity for hard work and rocking climbing, it wasn’t long before Nick exchanged the view from the ground for one aloft in the canopy. In addition to an extensive background in tree care, Nick has devoted a significant portion of his life to agricultural pursuits and production based farming. The combination of skills and values from both fields result in a business focused on mitigation of risk perpetuation of healthy vegetation, and increasing productivity of natural landscapes.
My Path
The lines between my time spent in arboriculture and agriculture are not well defined, as the two have been intertwined for the last seven years. My initial exposure to tree work in 2013 was on a transmission clearing crew in remote parts of the High Rockies. We were tasked with clearing hazardous trees within striking distance of high voltage power lines. Find and remove was the name of the game, with very little prioritization of vegetative health or preservation. In contrast, my experience in agriculture revolved around the propagation of plants and the cultivation of beautiful healthy products for consumers. Two very opposing viewpoints of flora in the landscape.
I pull from both fields of experience when assessing a prospective job. Viewing tree care through two lenses with the goal of striking a balance between the preservation of vegetation and the removal of threats to people and structures. It is therefore my job to understand your context and to recommend a course of action based on my experience and knowledge that fits your needs and creates healthy landscapes.
My work is supported by three pillars of practice, a heightened focus on safety, efficiency, and impact. My goal is to create your vision for your property and to do it in the safest way possible, at a fair price, and with the least amount of collateral impact possible. The trees and your property are the focus.
